What is SHIFT4 Dine?

SkyTab is becoming SHIFT4 Dine.

SHIFT4 is rebranding their flagship restaurant POS — previously known as SkyTab — as SHIFT4 Dine. Same powerful platform: pay-at-the-table handhelds, online ordering, reservations, marketing, and integrated payments. New name, deeper integration, and a stronger restaurant-first focus.

Restaurant and Retail OS was one of the earliest ISOs to specialize in this platform across Maine, New Hampshire, and the broader Northeast — and we have white-glove installed it in everything from beachfront seafood houses to multi-location franchises. The rebrand changes the logo. It does not change the playbook that has earned us the reputation as the best-in-class install team in the country.

Why us

Most resellers hand you a box. We hand you a working restaurant.

The difference between a SHIFT4 sub-reseller and a full SHIFT4 ISO is the difference between someone who sells you software and someone who owns your outcome end-to-end. Here is what changes when you work with us.

01

Direct ISO — no middleman

We hold a direct relationship with SHIFT4. That means faster underwriting, transparent rate cards, and a real escalation path when you need something fixed yesterday. Sub-resellers route through us; we route to the source.

02

White-glove, on-site install

We do not ship you a box and a YouTube link. Our team flies, drives, and shows up. Cabling, network, printer placement, menu build, integrations, and staff training — in your restaurant, with your team, before your first ticket.

03

In-house support, 24/7

When something goes sideways at 11 p.m. on a Saturday, you get a human on our team — not an offshore call center reading a script. We staff our own support, and we know your build because we built it.

04

We are local

Headquartered in the Northeast, with techs covering Maine, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Vermont, Rhode Island, and Connecticut. When weather, supply, or staffing throws a curveball, having a partner an hour away matters.

Licensed in-house

We are not the reseller. We are the install.

Restaurant and Retail OS is staffed by licensed electrical installers qualified for low-voltage data cabling. The team running your cable, terminating your jacks, mounting your access points, and powering your stations is the same team configuring your menu and training your staff. Most "POS installers" sub that work to a third party and disappear. We do not.

What we are not

  • Not a reseller who flips a license and disappears
  • Not a third-party contractor that shows up for one day
  • Not a sub-contractor hired by someone else's project manager
  • Not a call center pretending to support your restaurant

What we are

  • Licensed electrical installers for data cabling — in-house
  • A direct SHIFT4 ISO with full underwriting authority
  • One team that builds, wires, installs, trains, and supports
  • One of the top SHIFT4 Dine installers in the Northeast — period

There is no higher level of dedicated install than what we deliver — not from a sub-reseller, not from a third-party contractor, not from anyone else in the Northeast. If there is any company to hire for SHIFT4 Dine, this is the one.

The white-glove process

Five steps. Zero surprises.

There is no higher level of dedicated install than ours. We do not say that lightly — the five steps below, executed entirely by our in-house team, are why no other partner in the Northeast installs SHIFT4 Dine to the standard we do.

  1. 1

    Site survey & design

We walk your floor, map your network, photograph your stations, and design the build to your service flow — counter service, full service, hybrid, multi-location, whatever you run.

  2. 2

    Custom configuration

Menu engineering, modifier logic, tax rules, online ordering, gift cards, loyalty, third-party delivery, accounting integration. We configure it — you approve it.

  3. 3

    On-site install — cabling included

Our licensed electrical team runs the data cabling, terminates the jacks, configures the network, and mounts the hardware — printers, KDS, handhelds, payment terminals, all of it. No subbing the wiring out to a third party who blames us when it breaks. Every station mounted, tested, and labeled. We do not leave until everything prints, charges, and syncs.

  4. 4

    Live staff training

We train your front-of-house, back-of-house, and managers in person. Cheat sheets, role plays, opening-day standby. Your team is confident before the doors open.

  5. 5

    Go-live & ongoing support

We are on-site for opening day, then on-call 24/7. Quarterly reviews, menu updates, new-feature rollouts — all included. You are not buying software; you are hiring a partner.

Service area

Restaurants we serve across the Northeast.

We install and support SHIFT4 Dine for restaurants throughout Maine (Portland, Bangor, Augusta, Lewiston, Bar Harbor, Kennebunkport, Bridgton), New Hampshire (Manchester, Nashua, Concord, Portsmouth, Dover, Keene, North Conway), and the broader Northeast region — Massachusetts, Vermont, Rhode Island, and Connecticut.

From a single neighborhood diner to a multi-state hospitality group, the white-glove process is the same. The only thing that changes is the size of the team we put on the ground.

Frequently asked

Answers to what restaurants actually ask.

Is SHIFT4 Dine the same product as SkyTab?

Yes. SHIFT4 Dine is the rebrand of SkyTab. Same hardware, same software platform, same payment processing — new name and deeper SHIFT4 integration. Existing SkyTab users transition seamlessly.

What does it cost to switch?

Pricing depends on your size, hardware needs, and processing volume — but as a direct ISO we routinely beat what sub-resellers quote. We also evaluate your current statement and tell you straight whether switching saves you money. No high-pressure sales theater.

How long does install take?

A single-location restaurant typically goes from contract signed to live in 2–4 weeks, depending on hardware lead time and how fast you can get us your menu. Multi-location rollouts are sequenced so you are never running two systems at once.

What happens if something breaks at 9 p.m. on a Friday?

You call us and a real person on our team picks up. We support 24/7 in-house. If it is hardware, we have spares cached regionally and a tech can be on site within hours, not days.

Do you handle the actual data cabling and electrical, or do you sub it out?

We handle it. Restaurant and Retail OS employs licensed electrical installers qualified for low-voltage data cabling, so the people running your wire are the same people building your menu and supporting your floor at midnight. That matters when something needs troubleshooting — there is no finger-pointing between vendors because there are no other vendors. From breaker to handheld, it is one team.

Are you really a SHIFT4 ISO, or a reseller of one?

We are a full ISO — direct contractual relationship with SHIFT4. That distinction matters for underwriting speed, rate transparency, and how fast escalations get resolved. Anyone selling you SkyTab/SHIFT4 Dine through a layer of middlemen is by definition not.

Do you serve restaurants outside Maine and New Hampshire?

Yes. Our home base is the Northeast and we install across the region — Massachusetts, Vermont, Rhode Island, Connecticut, and into upstate New York. Reach out and we will tell you straight whether we are the right fit for your location.
